Preserving Our Quality of Life

As our City Attorney, and a 28-year local resident, Mike is dedicated to preserving the quality of life that makes Huntington Beach such a special place to call home.

Mike is working within the law to maximize local control over land use and housing decisions in order to prevent reckless high-density development that would change the character of our community. He wants to ensure that affordable housing meets the high community standards that residents expect.

Protecting Public Safety

Keeping Huntington Beach safe for residents is Mike’s top priority as our City Attorney. Mike works closely with local law enforcement to support the highest level of public safety protection for our families, neighborhoods and businesses.  And he actively prosecutes criminal offenders who jeopardize the peace and security of our community.

Mike’s effective public safety leadership has earned him the strong endorsement of our Huntington Beach Police Officers.

Reducing Homelessness

Mike does not believe it is fair to city residents to allow the homeless to camp in public places.  That’s why he supports active enforcement of Huntington Beach’s ban on outdoor camping.

As our City Attorney, Mike supports the Grants Pass Decision and the implementation of state laws that permit mentally ill and drug addicted homeless individuals to be taken off the streets and placed in housing facilities where they can receive needed treatment.

Supporting Fiscal Responsibility

Mike brings a strong commitment to financial integrity and accountability to the office of City Attorney.  He wants our city tax dollars used to provide vital city services that benefit residents like public safety, parks and beaches.

Mike’s advice to our city officials is grounded in the principle of doing what’s best for the residents of Huntington Beach both legally and financially.
